John McEnroe & Acts 2

As a tennis fan, I was always impressed that John McEnroe would take yearly lessons as if he were a beginner.

Why? He wanted to make sure he wasn’t developing any bad habits (I’m referring to his tennis skills and not antics). I was impressed with this because he’d won the gold standard championships of Wimbledon and the US Open.

Whether you’re new to following Jesus or have been doing so since your childhood, it’s a great question. Without knowing God’s plan for our lives, we can easily experience mission drift. In addition to the cares of life we regularly face, we can get caught up in the cares of the world. Before you know it, you can find yourself focused more on yourself than the bigger picture.
