Q: Do we become angels when we die?
A: No. Angels are distinct creatures that although they seemingly have similarities as people in heaven they are nevertheless distinct. They were created by God and minister to Christians (Heb. 1:13-14). One of the more striking differences is that they have no need of, and cannot experience, the redemption that Jesus came to provide for the human race. As a result, they are described as being intrigued (1 Peter 1:12) by a human’s born again experience and even celebrate whenever this process takes place (Lk. 15:10).
